About Us

Hi, and welcome to Colorful Confessions:

 Life Amongst the Crayons!

Me and My Girl

Please allow me to introduce myself:

I'm Amy! I have a wonderful husband, and I am a mother of two beautiful kids. We live in Edmonton, Alberta, however; I grew up in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. I graduated with distinction (cum laude) from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in child psychology. (I feel it’s important to include this, as a personal reminder that I was once capable of reading more than just board books and parenting magazines.) When I start thinking about how best to describe myself, an Alanis Morissette song comes to mind, “I’m a little bit of everything all rolled into one”. I think this has always been my personal “dilemma.”  I have a passion for so many different things, that I could never figure out, just what it is that I actually want to do with my life. How can I combine my passion for pretty things, my love for art, fitness, fashion, music, and science, all into one thing? Well, I’ve finally found my outlet! Eureka! Let’s Blog!

The Kiddos:

Guaranteed you are going to hear a lot about these 2! They are My life. My heart. My soul. I can’t imagine my life without them!

First, we have my first born K-aos. I am not comfortable using my children's real names on my blog, so i've decided to give the kids nicknames to use throughout. Out of the blue last week, my girl came up to me and said, “Mom! Just call me K-aos!” Then she smiles and says, “And don’t you forget it!” It was so cute! We had a great little laugh. Where does she come up with this stuff?
K-aos turned 5 in March and will be starting Kindergarten in September. She’s a smarty pants and loves doing any and all educational activities. K-aos has imaginary birthday parties almost every day of the week and plays dress up just as much. She loves to dance wild, help me bake, and loves to do crafts. She’s quite the budding artist and I have bins of her drawings that I need to organize somehow! They’re taking over!

Little J, my second born, will be 2 years old in July. He is quite the little ham these days! He always has a big smile on his face, or as of late, a mischievous grin, because he’s always up to something. His favorite things include, his sock monkey, dinky cars, his toy vacuum (he calls it Beep), Bubbles, watching hockey, working on the car with dad and sitting in the sand box digging for extended periods of time.
